Fist, I ask you a million questions. Either over the internet or in person. This helps me create a base for our training together.
Our first session together is an Assessment. I observe and relate to your dog, and to you, and we are able to build a platform for training from here.
I will send you an email with follow-up observations and recommendations. Then we will discuss a personalized training plan.
Regular Weekly Sessions Work the Best
Our weekly sessions will include a widening array of tasks and activities for you and your dog.
Each dog and person is different. Ten to 12 sessions is a good start.
Agility & Scent Detection are part of what can come next once you are comfortable in your relationship with your dog and with their behavior.
My dog and I had a really good time today and she is progressing so fast as far as getting used to new things. We were at the end of our trail and about to turn around when along comes a woman riding this crazy one-wheeled thing. Like standing on the axles like the BC comic strip. She's a big woman all dressed in black with a black helmet. Look like Darth Vader. My dog was quite startled. The lady stopped, laid down her one-wheeled ride, took off her helmet, and worked with me to get my dog accustomed to the new thing and Darth Vader. Really a great opportunity. Turns out she trained sled dogs in Alaska. We were talking and she was saying what a smart dog my dog is. And she then turned to me and said, "Someone has clearly trained you well, too."
